say hello to autumn

i'm so sorry for the severe lack of updates lately, school responsibilites (and trying to enjoy the last week of freedom) were calling! but i do promise to be a better blogger in the future!

I'm about to start spanish sixth form on tuesday, which is kind of famous for being ridiculously hard, so i'm quite nervous as the day looms closer and closer. it also doesn't help too much that you have to pass eleven subjects to get the title after two years! but i am going to attempt to do it anyway. wish me luck!

let's do something real

have you ever heard a song by a band you don't know of and just known that they were destined for big things? those were my thoughts exactly upon hearing this song by manchester electro band delphic. they have already had some success on the club scene, and are now starting to get the recognition that they deserve on a more mainstream level.
i don't have a crystal ball but i am sure that we will be seeing alot more of them in the future.

you came to my show, and i saw you in the crowd

i have such a strong desire to go to a show, somewhere tiny and intimate, to just stand there and feel myself getting sucked into an atmosphere that doesn't quite seem like the real world.
for me, nothing can quite compare to that feeling, when you are squashed amongst dozens of strangers, but you don't care, when you are aware that you are in the palm of the hand of the person that stands before you on the stage, but you love it.
when you are filled with adrenaline and excitement, and the euphoria seems to overpower any other emotion you may have.
what can possibly be better than that?

what i'm listening to

what i've been listening to this week:
two door cinema club - not in this town (this song is the story of my life at the moment)
delphic - this momentary
bloc party - once more chance
underground railroad - pick the ghost
emily haines - our hell
MSTRKRFT - heartbreaker
the dead weather - are friends electric?

take a shot, give everything you've got

sorry about the lack of posts recently, i actually wasn't sure whether to continue blogging, but then i made the decision to carry on and incorporate alot more music into the blog, as i have noticed that there is a great lack of blogs that incorporate having music and fashion as the main topics, and are usually one or the other.
music is my main love so hopefully i will have lots of inspiration.
it would be lovely if i wasn't writing to a selective but lonely audience of myself.
thanks alot to anyone who reads my little blog, it is much appreciated!

let's take a trip to iceland...

i have no idea why, but for several months i have had an indescribable fascination/obsession with all things icelandic. maybe it is because of my love of the incredible musician bjórk, or maybe it's the ethereal and beautiful work of sigur rós that tugs me to towards iceland, but i cannot get enough of this mysterious country.
i will take a trip there one day... sigh.

there's a drumming noise inside my head that starts when you're around

i'm sure that everyone reading this has heard of london-based band
florence and the machine by now, and if not, which rock have you been living under?!
i for one cannot stop listening to her debut lp 'lungs'.
if you haven't got the album yet, what are you waiting for?

i don't really want to have to answer to anybody

after having had a dull saturday i was glad to see my weekly copy of nme magazine arrive at my house; and thrilled to see one of my favourite people - alison mosshart (who else?) and her new band the dead weather on the cover of my favourite magazine: clash.
now i can't wait to arrive home from work tomorrow and get inspired.
if you love music but haven't bought clash before then i highly recommend it!

watch the world spinning gently out of time

i was so enthralled by these pictures by the ever-inspiring carl wooley, that i just had to show them to you.
they capture loneliness and emptiness so perfectly and i think that they are beautiful.
there is something so haunting about all of his work that always astonishes me.

song of the day: blur - out of time

i lose myself in flashing colours

my current love of band t-shirts leads to the desire to buy more and more.
i bought this friendly fires one at benicassim festival last week, and now i am lusting over this klaxons one, which i am definitely ordering when i eventually have money to spare.

holding hands in the street where the lights are low

the music, the style, the beauty, the accent.
i love you pip brown.
